Italy Language

Italian is the official language. English is widely understood in tourist areas, hotels, and restaurants, but learning basic Italian phrases is appreciated: 'Ciao' (Hello), 'Grazie' (Thank you), 'Per favore' (Please), 'Quanto costa?' (How much is it?). Regional dialects exist but standard Italian is understood everywhere.
