Raki (Albanian Spirit)

Albania's national drink — a potent grape or mulberry brandy (40–60% ABV) distilled in homes and small producers across the country. It is offered to every guest as a mark of hospitality before meals and at celebrations. The best homemade raki comes from the Berat and Skrapar regions. Do not refuse when offered — it is considered rude to decline.
