Held in late April–early May in Nassau and Grand Bahama, the Bahamas Carnival is a newer but rapidly growing festival inspired by the Trinidad Carnival tradition. Three days of fêtes, road marches, soca and Caribbean music concerts, and J'Ouvert celebrations draw tens of thousands of participants in elaborate feathered and jewelled costumes. International soca artists headline the music stages, and the Grand Parade through Nassau's streets is a spectacular display of Caribbean festival culture.
