Held each January in Nassau Harbour, Nassau Sailing Week is an internationally recognised offshore regatta drawing sailboats from across the Americas to race in the clear Bahamian waters around New Providence. The event celebrates the Bahamas' extraordinary sailing heritage — these islands have been a crossroads of Caribbean sailing since the age of pirates — and combines competitive racing with a festive social programme of parties and sundowners at Nassau's harbourfront bars and yacht clubs.
