Manama Souq Food Experience

About

The Manama Souq and the surrounding streets near Bab Al Bahrain are Bahrain’s greatest food adventure. Tiny stalls sell karak chai (intensely spiced milky tea that has become the national drink of the Gulf), fresh juices, falafel, shawarma, and Bahraini breads. The Muharraq Souq is quieter and even more authentic — wooden stalls selling local halwa, spices, and traditional sweets among 19th-century pearl merchant houses. Friday morning is the best time to visit, when local families shop and the atmosphere is at its most alive.
