An ancient Greek festival revived in modern Cyprus, celebrated in May in Paphos, Limassol, and Nicosia. Decorated flower floats parade through city streets, schoolchildren dress in flower costumes, and parks and squares are transformed with floral installations. The celebration marks the arrival of spring and the blooming of Cyprus’s famous wildflowers — over 1,800 plant species, including 140 endemic to the island.
