Commandaria Wine

About

Commandaria is the world’s oldest named wine still in production — a rich, amber-coloured sweet wine made from sun-dried Mavro and Xynisteri grapes grown in the Troodos foothills. It has been produced continuously for over 3,500 years and was praised by ancient Greek poets, crusading knights, and King Richard I of England. Every Cypriot family keeps a bottle; it’s served at celebrations and as a dessert wine.
