Becherovka is the Czech Republic's most famous spirit — a herbal bitters liqueur made in Karlovy Vary since 1807 from a secret blend of over 20 herbs and spices. Served ice-cold as a digestive or mixed with tonic water (a 'Beton'). Slivovitz (plum brandy) from Moravia is the country's traditional fruit spirit. Fernet Stock — a dark, intensely herbal digestive — is the most popular spirit in the country by volume.
