Frikadeller (Danish Meatballs)

About

Pan-fried patties of minced pork and veal mixed with onion, egg, milk, and seasoning — flatter and more oval than Swedish meatballs, with a crispy golden exterior and juicy interior. Frikadeller are a Danish home-cooking staple, served hot with boiled potatoes, brown gravy, and pickled red cabbage for dinner, or cold on rye bread for lunch. Every Danish grandmother has her own recipe — slight variations in spicing are taken very personally.
