The iconic Danish street food — a bright red pork sausage (artificially coloured since the 1920s) served in a white bun from a pølsevogn (hot dog cart) with raw and crispy fried onions, mustard, ketchup, and remoulade. Found at every town square and train station, the rød pølse is a beloved institution. The version with an elongated bun (French hot dog) squeezed with condiments is equally popular.
