Florence's Scoppio del Carro (Easter)

Florence's 'Explosion of the Cart' is a unique Easter tradition dating to the First Crusade. A cart loaded with fireworks is pulled by white oxen to the Piazza del Duomo and ignited by a rocket shaped as a dove. A successful explosion is said to bring a good harvest. Held on Easter Sunday in front of the Cathedral.
