
Coffee in Italy is a ritual. Espresso is the standard — short, strong, and drunk standing at the bar. Cappuccino is a morning drink only (Italians never order it after 11am). Caffè macchiato (espresso with a dash of milk) and caffè corretto (with grappa) are local favourites. Never ask for a 'large' coffee — order a doppio (double espresso) instead.
