Nebuta Festival – Aomori

Held in early August in Aomori, the Nebuta Matsuri features giant illuminated floats depicting warriors and mythological figures, paraded through the city at night to taiko drums and chanting. One of Japan's most visually spectacular festivals, drawing hundreds of thousands of visitors to northern Honshu.
