Portugal's Atlantic coastline delivers some of Europe's finest seafood. Percebes (barnacles) are pried from coastal rocks and boiled in seawater — a delicacy with an intensely briny, oceanic flavour. Amêijoas à Bulhão Pato (clams with garlic and coriander), grilled dourada (sea bream), and caldeirada (seafood stew) are other classics. The Algarve and Setúbal Peninsula offer the freshest catches.
