4th of July — Independence Day

America's biggest national celebration, held on July 4th every year, marks independence from Britain in 1776. Cities across the country host fireworks displays, parades, concerts, and barbecues. The most spectacular fireworks are over New York Harbor (with the Statue of Liberty as backdrop), Washington D.C.'s National Mall, and Boston's Charles River Esplanade — home to the famous Boston Pops concert.
