Rum Punch & Rum Culture

About

Rum is the lifeblood of Antiguan culture — the island has been producing rum since the 17th century and the tradition runs deep. English Harbour Rum, produced at the Antigua Distillery, is among the Caribbean’s most respected rums — aged in oak barrels using traditional methods. The classic rum punch (rum, lime juice, sugar syrup, Angostura bitters, and nutmeg) is the island’s social lubricant. Rum tasting at the Antigua Distillery in St. John’s is a worthwhile stop on any island tour.
