A spectacular medieval pageant held annually in July on Brussels' Grand Place. Over 1,400 participants in 16th-century costumes recreate the visit of Holy Roman Emperor Charles V to Brussels in 1549, with knights, noblewomen, guild members, falconers, and musicians processing through the floodlit square. One of Belgium's most visually breathtaking events.
