Held annually in December, the Angkor International Photography Festival and its associated competition draws photographers from across the world to submit and exhibit work inspired by the temples and people of the Angkor region. Large-format photographs are displayed in the open air throughout Siem Reap's streets and gardens, transforming the town into an outdoor gallery. The festival has grown into one of Asia's most respected photography events and celebrates both the heritage of the Angkor complex and contemporary Cambodian life.
