Zagreb’s Christmas Advent markets have been voted the best in Europe multiple times by Lonely Planet readers. From late November through January 7th, the city’s squares — Ban Jelačić, Zrinjevac, Strossmayer — fill with illuminated stalls selling mulled wine, roasted chestnuts, handmade crafts, and local foods.
