A 10-day free street festival held every August in the beautifully preserved Baroque city of Varaždin. Acrobats, musicians, theatre groups, craftspeople, and artists fill the historic streets with colour and music. Špancirfest (meaning ‘strolling festival’) is one of Croatia’s most beloved and joyful summer events — a perfect antidote to the crowded Dalmatian coast.
